Scented Bath Salts: A Must Have For Everyone

What do you think is the basic requirement after a hard day's work? It is just some love and affection from your loved ones and getting soaked in warm water for a while. Add some scented bath salts to that water and that's it! You can't ask for anything more. Just relax and enjoy the wonderful experience and get rid of all your tired muscles and the stress from your body.

There are a number of bath products available in the markets these days. They all have some quality of the other. If you are someone who enjoys fragrances around you and want to experience a luxurious bath, the scented bath salts in just the right choice for you. It relaxes the body and is known to sooth the minds too. It will help you to drift off to the dreamland. In fact people with insomnia are also advised to take a warn bath enriched with scented bath salts before sleeping. A bath before bedtime lowers the body temperature and when scented bath salts are added to it, this relaxes the minds and prepares the body for a peaceful sleep.

These bath salts can be prepared at home without any inconvenience at all. You need some basic ingredients to prepare them. These ingredients are available in most of the local herbal stores and some departmental stores too. For making scented bath salts you have to take about 2 cups of Sea Salt or Kosher salt or rock salt and add 20 drops of your favourite essential oils. After mixing the two, spread it properly on a cookie sheet covered with tin foil or parchment paper. This step is very important as if you use paper towel in place of foil or parchment paper, the paper towel will absorb the essential oils added to the mixture. With a foil you don't have to worry about that. After spreading, you have to wait for it to become dry. This process may take from about 3 hours to almost a day. Once the mixture is dry, you have to transfer it to a glass container with a lid. Some people like coloured bath salts. They can add few tablespoons of beetroot juice or some other non-toxic food colouring that is again available at all health food stores. For using this homemade bath salt, you can take out about half cup from the container and add to warm water. This is cheaper and safer than most of the commercially available bath products.

The scented bath salts are perfect to make your skin soft and supple. Besides treating many respiratory problems, they are also a favourite of all the kids. Care should be taken to find if they cause skin irritation or allergies to them. And when you do make them at home, be careful in adding a mild fragrance otherwise you may not be able to use it in public.
